How much budget do I need to have to buy a swimming pool?

The prices of swimming pools can vary depending on many factors, such as size, construction, and equipment. Nevertheless, we will provide approximate costs to give you a general reference point.

For swimming pools with basic equipment, prices usually start at around 9,000 Polish złoty for smaller pools and can go up to 100,000 złoty or more for larger and more advanced models.

The cost of purchasing additional equipment for your pool will make it more functional and allow you to use it for a longer period throughout the year. It’s worth considering adding the following to your pool:

  • Lights that will beautifully illuminate the water surface in the evening and create a romantic atmosphere.
  • A heat pump to warm up the water, so you can enjoy the pool even on slightly cooler days. Keep in mind that water, which naturally heats up on hot days, cools down again at night. So, if you don’t want to feel like you’re swimming in the Baltic Sea, invest in a pool water heating device. Prices for heat pumps start at 3,900 złoty.
  • You will also need a pool cover. If the water in the pool has already been heated, either naturally or with a heat pump, it is essential to cover the water surface after using the pool to prevent it from cooling down. About 90% of heat loss from the pool occurs through this route. There are many options for covering a pool, starting from solar foil and ending with pool enclosures. The average cost of solar foil with a roller is 1,600 złoty, while the prices for pool enclosures start at 13,499 złoty.
  • If your dream is to compete in the swimming team at the Olympics, it’s worth investing in a counter-current system, also known as a swim jet. With this equipment, you can use the pool not only for relaxation but primarily for daily swimming training, just like in an Olympic-sized pool. The water stream expelled at a speed of 55 to 70 m3/h will allow you to swim in place despite exerting considerable force. Even the smallest pool equipped with this device will satisfy your swimming needs, not just soaking in the pool. Prices for counter-current systems start at 4,400 złoty.

The third element you should consider in your budget is the cost of transporting the pool to your location. The price depends on the size of the pool and the country to which it needs to be transported. The rate per kilometer starts at 1.89 złoty/km, calculated round trip. There is also the option of self-pickup for the pool.

The fourth point in the budget is the cost of a construction company that will excavate, pour a concrete slab at the bottom, backfill the pool with dry concrete, and construct the pool stairs. You should also include the cost of an electrician and a plumber who will connect the hydraulic installation of your pool. If you have the necessary knowledge and skills in construction and plumbing, you can perform the installation yourself. The most expensive option is having the pool installation done by so-called pool companies.
