How to take care of effective heating of the pool?

We explain how the correct heating of the pool should look like. Find out what to keep in mind!

The decision was made – you want to have a swimming pool! No wonder, it’s a very big convenience, especially since summer temperatures can definitely make themselves felt, and is there a more pleasant way to relax in hot weather than a day spent by the water? At this stage, it is very possible that you are wondering how much it costs to build a swimming pool, check the most favorable options, analyze the optimal size of the basin, etc. Remember that this is the best time to think about what kind of pool heating may turn out to be a hit in your case. In this article we will explain which way to heat the water in the pool is definitely worth choosing and why heating the pool is a great convenience.

Why is heating the water for the pool crucial for your comfort?

Heating the water for the pool will allow you to take comfortable baths even if your pool has not yet managed to warm up thanks to the air temperature. In practice, effective heating of pool water is an absolute necessity, especially if you take into account the characteristics of the Polish weather. Thanks to functional pool heating, you can start enjoying the benefits of having your own tank in the garden earlier and become independent, at least partially, from the weather aura. That is why, already at the stage of choosing a pool, it is worth making a decision about its subsequent heating.

How much does the water in the pool heat up?

Heating the water in the pool is an investment in your comfort of using the water reservoir. How fast the heating of swimming pools progresses depends primarily on two factors: the size of the basin, and thus the amount of water and the efficiency of the selected heating system. So it is difficult to give specific forks here. You must also remember that how long the water in the pool heats up is also influenced by whether it is the first heating of the pool. You start from scratch, which is why heating the water for the first time is the longest and can take up to several days.

If you want to minimize the evaporation of water, which causes heat loss from the pool, use a dedicated solar film that not only raises the temperature of the water, but also protects it from unnecessary pollution and reduces energy consumption. A great solution will also be a tight pool roof, limiting water cooling. For maximum results, it is recommended to combine these two solutions.

Basic ways to heat the water in the pool

The correct pH level in the pool, taking care of the purity of the water – these are just some of the issues that you need to keep in mind if you want the tank to serve you really well. Earlier we mentioned that heating the water in the pool has an impact on the pleasure of your baths. What heating for the pool is worth choosing? How to heat the pool to get satisfactory results? In practice, heating the water in the pool is possible with the help of several technologies.

HEAT PUMP. If you are wondering how to do water heating in the pool, it is definitely worth considering this solution. A heat pump is an electrical device that uses thermal energy from the air to raise the temperature of the water. A heat pump used to heat the water in the pool is a very good decision in terms of cost, because it needs less electricity to operate than a regular water heater. Pumps from 6.5 to 16 kW are most often used – the size of your pool is crucial.

POOL SOLAR PANELS. Heating the water in the pool with dedicated solar collectors is an ecological and easy to install way, which at the same time means low operating costs, because the collectors use the heat of solar radiation. Importantly, the installation of swimming pool solar panels is not a large financial investment. However, it should be noted that if it is cloudy outside, the solar panels will not be able to obtain enough solar heat, which may cause a drop in the temperature of the water in the pool. Using a heat pump, you do not have to worry about sunlight. Even during cloudiness, the pump is still able to operate effectively.

ELECTRIC HEATERS. Electric heating of the pool is, due to the operating costs (they depend to a large extent on current electricity prices), a solution that should be of interest primarily to people planning to install a relatively small swimming pool basin. The big advantage of the heaters is the efficiency of operation and the thermostat, which allows you to precisely set the temperature, tailored to your individual preferences.

HEAT EXCHANGER. This option of heating pool water is reserved for owners of a stove that heats the house. The heat exchanger should not cause problems in use and ensures high work efficiency. At the same time, however, when considering the use of this technology, pay attention to the fact that the exchanger is connected to the central furnace, which may constitute a limitation in its use, as long as there are months in which you usually do not use the furnace. However, heating the water in the pool with a stove is a relatively cheap solution.

How to choose a pool heating system?

Do you dream of a heated garden pool? In this case, even before you choose a way to heat the water in the pool as effectively as possible, you need to determine your basic expectations and needs. What should you pay attention to when deciding on specific technologies that allow you to heat the water in the pool?

First: the size of the pool. This is especially true for tanks with large basins. Make sure that the chosen solution is effective and will allow for efficient heating of water, but at the same time it will not generate costs exceeding your financial capabilities.

Secondly: the cost of assembly and purchase of the necessary equipment. Heating of the pool should be as economical as possible. When analyzing costs, focus not only on the price of necessary accessories, but also take into account the expenses associated with the installation and the degree of its complexity.

Thirdly: operating costs. Remember that the costs of installing and purchasing a heating system for a swimming pool should also be considered in the context of its subsequent operation. Not always the purchase of the cheapest solution is the most advantageous in financial terms.

Cheap pool heating – is it possible?

When analyzing how much it costs to maintain a swimming pool, pay attention not only to the costs of cleaning, pool chemistry, etc., but also to the expenses associated with heating the water. Cheap to operate solutions enabling heating of the pool include primarily those that use renewable energy sources, i.e. a heat pump and solar collectors. A heat exchanger will also be an economical solution. Also, make sure that the type of heating you choose is possible to install for your pool.
