The wide technical rim provides strength and stability to the pool’s structure. It is often a reinforced and rigid structure that helps maintain the shape of the pool and protects it from deformations. It reinforces the pool shell and is particularly important during loading, transportation, and unloading, when the pool is most vulnerable to damage.
However, the technical rim is not part of the pool once the pool shell is installed in the excavation. It can be completely removed or covered with a pool deck element, such as a coping stone. It is also not covered by the warranty, and any scratches or chips that occur during transportation, unloading, or installation of the pool on the rim cannot be the basis for a complaint. The purpose of the rim is to ensure that any minor damages that may occur during those processes are concentrated on the rim itself and not on the pool walls.
